Step-By-Step Tire Removal

1. Deflate The Tire All The Way

Slip a rim protector under your first iron, hook the bead, and lift a small section over the lip. Leave that iron in place, then move 3 to 4 inches over with the second iron and repeat.

Keep your bites short. Big grabs feel strong, though they load the bead harder and can bend cheap irons. Walk the bead around until the whole top bead is outside the rim.

6. Pull The Lower Bead Out

With the top bead off, tilt the tire and wheel so the lower bead sits in the drop center on one side. Slide an iron under the lower bead and lift it over the lip. After one section clears, the rest often follows with far less drama. On soft sidewalls, you may be able to pull the tire free by hand after that first section is out.

If it binds, stop and reset the opposite side deeper into the center channel. That one move solves most “stuck” moments.
